I'm sad to say I'll be stepping back from the DT, but I am hoping to still pop in once in a while as a guest member. I'm also very excited about the new members on the team. They are some very talented ladies and I can't wait to see all their creations.<br />
Now, gettting back to the Hop. Cheri has come up with some adorable and cheeky anti-valentine sayings, which I LOVE! I've paired it up a couple of my favourite Ticked Pink Stamps ~Valentine Lolita Lilith and Greek Lad Apollo Lesat....I thought he kinda looked like he could pass as a cupid lol.<br />

So after I finished making this wreath, I decided to take a photo right away so even if I wasn't posting cards, I could post something I've made.<br />
<br />
This wreath was made using geo mesh, and it was a bit of a challenge getting the floral picks to hold in the styrofoam. I had to use my glue gun to do it, and burned my fingers so many times that they are still numb on the tips. But overall, I'm pleased with the results and would definitely do another.<br />

Time for this month's Sketch Challege at <a href="http://graphicatsketchs.blogspot.com/">Graphicat Designs</a>. Cheri is also releasing some new stamps and digi images, so make sure you go check them out.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I chose to use one of Cheri's digi images for my card. And yes, it's a tad sarcastic, a little cheeky, but then again, so am I. I also have some friends that are a little bah-hum-buggy about Christmas, and this is perfect for them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
Now, for October it's going to be a sketch Challenge...my personal favourite.<br />

Graphicat Stamps!!!<br />
And to start if off with a bang, we're having a blog hop to show off some of Cheri's fun, sarcastic & snarky sentiment stamps, as well as some other lovely images.<br />
Not only does Graphicat Stamps have their own stamps, they are also the only Canadian retailer for Glo Skulls, plus Tickled Pink and Simply Betty stamps.<br />
<br />
For this Blog Hop there will be a prize of 3 digis given to one commenter on each of the design team's posts, and a Grand Prize Draw from all the Hop participants for a $25 Gift Certificate to the store.<br />
<br />
In my card I used one of the sentiments and the sashimi from the Sushi set. I'll be using this set alot since I have alot of sushi-loving friends...lol. The image I paired it with is Benny Hanna from Bonibleaux Designs.<br />

It's mid July and I barely have any tan line. In fact today I saw people out wearing sweaters. It's ridiculous! I'm so sick of the unusually cold weather!<br />
This week I decided to try and cheer myself up by making a beachy card. There may not be warm weather and sunshine, but I have the bestest girlfriends and that more than makes up for it!! ;o) <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>It's a easel card, which I discovered is very hard to photograph LOL! I used the fabulous Ai stamp Girlfriends. Sentiment is also Ai, and ain't it the truth!!!<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking.Pepper Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11674614664126583657noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4306385063238333416.post-62025275756700148522011-07-08T23:11:00.000-07:002011-07-08T23:11:17.639-07:00It's July and time for a new Sketch Challenge over at <a href="http://graphicatsketchs.blogspot.com/"><span style="color: #ac5151;">Graphicat Sketches</span></a> ! Sorry I'm a little late, but I've been down and out with a sinus and throat infection. I'm on the mend and today finally took a pic of my card to post it. First, here's the cool sketch...<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBFTl79l-dgoRrPu1zizeRQ9JWv-r2a4wmI9khhIXRlvL7gZRC-5u5akwFQSVkd0drQH3yW6k2_UlmQ4r9wI35lZr4hz9ThhrbYXPeLHdiImfc0qOQppOKyv8hOoTdJNcqxjbIf6Ee5SvS/s1600/July.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBFTl79l-dgoRrPu1zizeRQ9JWv-r2a4wmI9khhIXRlvL7gZRC-5u5akwFQSVkd0drQH3yW6k2_UlmQ4r9wI35lZr4hz9ThhrbYXPeLHdiImfc0qOQppOKyv8hOoTdJNcqxjbIf6Ee5SvS/s320/July.jpg" width="320px" /></a><br />
And now, I know the rest of the design team used Cheri's latest release of Tea images and sentiments, but I decided to use one of her first images...Boomer! Named after my sweet baby. The sentiment is also one of Cheri's. Please check out her site, <span style="color: magenta;"><a href="http://graphicatdesigns.blogspot.com/">Graphicat Designs</a></span>, she has some very cute and sassy sentiments.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm_3vH9wlaqEq8dWYvPiBiNqnM8b-sQcr3pc9zMdZdgGqqnX1oiRBhTO_Q3bn2MYlZjY-q4qMBLJ2sGMNiLMohwo6mFRZIPTdVetTB_xPRBjYqziUhBlNEhsmZHDM0e67qS02cCiGV-IE/s1600/IMG_1612adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm_3vH9wlaqEq8dWYvPiBiNqnM8b-sQcr3pc9zMdZdgGqqnX1oiRBhTO_Q3bn2MYlZjY-q4qMBLJ2sGMNiLMohwo6mFRZIPTdVetTB_xPRBjYqziUhBlNEhsmZHDM0e67qS02cCiGV-IE/s320/IMG_1612adj.jpg" width="314px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers. I love the colour combo of orange, purple and green, even if it doesn't look as cool in the photo. And the image was fun and easy to colour. I look forward to using it again. Now please, go check out Graphicat Sketches and please join the challenge!</div>Pepper Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11674614664126583657noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4306385063238333416.post-60215744364083335522011-06-23T21:47:00.000-07:002011-06-23T21:47:17.760-07:004 cards posted<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I wanted to get some pictures posted so you don't think that I haven't been making any cards. I haven't been entering any challenges, and missed getting my DT card done....but things are settling down again and hopefully I will be posting regularly now. LOL!...who am I trying to kid? But I will try better. First 2 pictures didn't turn out very well. It was extremely sunny and I couldn't get anything without a glare or shadow. Sorry about the lousy quality....I'm still waiting for someone to offer me free photography lessons ;o)<br />
<br />
First card is a retirement card I made for a co-worker. Sylvie is a darling lady, and we worked together 22 years. She trained me when I first started at the hospital, (when I was just a child) lol, and she will be greatly missed at work.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi78-k9zHKIBXmdIXcONv7KOXMF0xQHLxpnZdd1wau5r-h-OfgQNN3U3stJoucP_CWo63NGQGzSPX1S0bB2weKuCePqx4OCgx9Yv-YwWEN6T1D2E-UXGQUbjlewLWJE7yWMpIVFKPqU8kE/s1600/IMG_1520adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi78-k9zHKIBXmdIXcONv7KOXMF0xQHLxpnZdd1wau5r-h-OfgQNN3U3stJoucP_CWo63NGQGzSPX1S0bB2weKuCePqx4OCgx9Yv-YwWEN6T1D2E-UXGQUbjlewLWJE7yWMpIVFKPqU8kE/s320/IMG_1520adj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The next card was for a friend's sister who needed cheering up. I hope it made her smile, and I look forward to meeting her sometime soon! I used the Kraftin Kimmie stamp Drucilla for it. (I've been dying to use it!!!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb9lMDaMsLVpx-wB7MTJxQh2moJx3MSlFDj7PaPlRSnG9Wh-NEYKWLb4ipPDya0cqhZOzo9r1bcqRpvHnZ2uyaGNi6xGPWFAdZkIGt6sSwVY6i2Lb98iFd5tJ61mUUpRaiHfcmopUbZg8/s1600/IMG_1542adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb9lMDaMsLVpx-wB7MTJxQh2moJx3MSlFDj7PaPlRSnG9Wh-NEYKWLb4ipPDya0cqhZOzo9r1bcqRpvHnZ2uyaGNi6xGPWFAdZkIGt6sSwVY6i2Lb98iFd5tJ61mUUpRaiHfcmopUbZg8/s320/IMG_1542adj.jpg" width="319" /></a></div><br />
Next is an anniversary card for my brother and his wife. It's their first anniversary....I can't believe it's been a year already. Feels like last week. I used this adorable Stampavie stamp for their card. Sickly sweet isn't it? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXp-3AQjT3JUnCS_GFfAxBUUO7JrdHuXDgK8YcCnq4hJJkBX5fvpSdcCa3rXvt7q0sD6n1i1P6oj7MYTYj1mKc1_fj0Q_XolonfFYp8leWRuffknnRqh5H6-PzrsX7MnI8TbFqM9vVQwg/s1600/IMG_1567adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXp-3AQjT3JUnCS_GFfAxBUUO7JrdHuXDgK8YcCnq4hJJkBX5fvpSdcCa3rXvt7q0sD6n1i1P6oj7MYTYj1mKc1_fj0Q_XolonfFYp8leWRuffknnRqh5H6-PzrsX7MnI8TbFqM9vVQwg/s320/IMG_1567adj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And finally a Father's Day card for my Dad. His favourite place to be is up at their trailer, so I knew this Mo Manning image would be perfect.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU3tHw4nUR-Ca1Hx7BNPaJERsn-Sby28BTWS_wR-c9aBBoKpfxP6kLpMDQz_VKFPqQusQcwShtQ2uiXBEbno6FkgdzGRuJb-AuCGsrd2igGZFJun8I9HkRxE8U34DV40ZXvEnUvhB0Txs/s1600/IMG_1564adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU3tHw4nUR-Ca1Hx7BNPaJERsn-Sby28BTWS_wR-c9aBBoKpfxP6kLpMDQz_VKFPqQusQcwShtQ2uiXBEbno6FkgdzGRuJb-AuCGsrd2igGZFJun8I9HkRxE8U34DV40ZXvEnUvhB0Txs/s320/IMG_1564adj.jpg" width="318" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

These were the cards I made a few weekends ago at the Scrapbooking Spectacular in Langley. The first one I made was for a friend Chris that has moved waaaaay up north. ....way-way up north lol. It's a good thing we are all card makers, because it will help to keep us all in touch, even miles away.<br />

I used my favourite Mo Manning image and BasicGrey Life of the Party paper. It's the official launch of Grapicat Designs, and I am especially thrilled to be a part of it. Cheri has designed some fabulous images, as well as some witty sentiments that I am really looking forward to using... not to mention getting to work with an extremely talented design team.<br />
<br />
You should have arrived here from<a href="http://obsessed-crazymomma.blogspot.com/"> Tanya's</a> blog if not and you've just happened along here you'll want to hop back to the beginning at <a href="http://graphicatcreations.blogspot.com/">Cheri's Blog</a>.<br />
<br />
For my first card here I decided I'd better use the sushi images (especially since I begged, pleaded and hounded Cheri to draw them lol). I must say they are my favs. <br />

It's not that I haven't been making anything, it's that I rarely remember to take pictures and post before I give the card or item away. I am working on getting better.... especially since I will be part of the Graphicat Design Team! I'm very excited about that!<br />
<br />
So, here's a card I made last week for Cheri's son Bradley's birthday. I of course used one of Cheri's sketches, and the Kenny K image Rock Dude...he's so cool. I love him! Bradley...like his Auntie Shelley...has a love for classic rock, especially AC/DC (which pains his mother! ) so this image was perfect. I worked so hard on the back wall, but you can barely see it in the picture. I used a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder and some Ranger distress paper..oh well...I know it's there lol.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now, last week, Cheri mentioned on her blog that we had picked up the tickets for next month's Scrapbook Spectacular, and that we had made the tye-dye t-shirts for the 70's theme night. Here's a couple pics we took while making them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Now, to be honest, if I didn't procrastinate so bad, I wouldn't have had to get them all done in one weekend, but I seem to work better under pressure....well, that's what I'm telling myself.<br />
I'm not happy with the pictures I'm posting. I really need to figure out the best way to take pictures of my cards.....I try flash, and no flash, Ottlite above, natural light...but they're not working for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.<br />
The first card was a birthday card for my cousin. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.....<br />

She's quite the little Diva and loves to entertain, so I knew this was perfect for her.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-reAaJ7ECGcJ7uD9qf0tMvV-F-iPtXpV1GJJUE6UImLPJHkM5D0gLeVz6qaZZfdCt1QKzHamTGmzETveehMluP58k_nG0W4jzfBqa2cZampOrMkx6YSwoV3_J4MlaYTvPu4D_iAownos/s1600/IMG_1304adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" s5="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-reAaJ7ECGcJ7uD9qf0tMvV-F-iPtXpV1GJJUE6UImLPJHkM5D0gLeVz6qaZZfdCt1QKzHamTGmzETveehMluP58k_nG0W4jzfBqa2cZampOrMkx6YSwoV3_J4MlaYTvPu4D_iAownos/s320/IMG_1304adj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">And the last card was made using another Mo Manning image (video boy). <br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Now, my first card of the year is one I did for my sister-in-law. Her New Years resolution was to quit smoking, and I am so proud of her, so far so good. I'm an ex-smoker and know first hand how hard it is to quit. I was having alot of trouble coming up with ideas for a card....everything was all too cutesy, and knowing the withdrawls my SIL was going through, cutesy wasn't going to cut it. I called Cheri to help me out with it, she too knew what Mel would be going through, and she suggested the great image (Lilith the Vampire from Lil Loita), and that perfect sentiment (Tiddly Inks). </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTnKD8DkdwiyixnzYdJGtint_o1eFryCoDZ_AY8Q_BvFasGNOrdn9aglWhBdP3VIIn2f8LbTt5WUCEC0gdoSKlfwRfdZiyiojrxej2njOwNVuvenwQGP25Qm-bs2KwIOCdfzZbWJPmsfQ/s1600/IMG_1283+adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTnKD8DkdwiyixnzYdJGtint_o1eFryCoDZ_AY8Q_BvFasGNOrdn9aglWhBdP3VIIn2f8LbTt5WUCEC0gdoSKlfwRfdZiyiojrxej2njOwNVuvenwQGP25Qm-bs2KwIOCdfzZbWJPmsfQ/s320/IMG_1283+adj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

He turns 40 this year....I'm not sure how that can be, since I'm only 35 LOL.... ;o)<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">We're very close, and I wanted to make him a special card this year to let him know how much he means to me. I used this adorable Mo Manning image called Bethy's Wagon (thanks Cheri for putting it together for me) and 'borrowed' the sentiment from a card I saw at the store one day...changing it a tiny bit to fit my card. Paper is Cambridge Chess by Bo Bunny and embellishments are Tim Holtz.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

DANG!<br />
Anyways, the challenge was to use one of her Emos and the colour combo lime green, purple and turquoise in a card. I was so excited to be able to use my Bo Bunny Winter Joy paper for this which is those very colours! I used Rio and London Emos to decortate the tree.<br />
Thanks for looking. <br />

I've been dying to use Elfin Miller on a card (I love the shocked look on his face) and thought he'd be a perfect fit for this one.<br />
I added one of my favourite quotes from the book and the red bling heart to finish him off.<br />

Day 1 challenge was to use any Simply Betty Stamps Halloween image and create a Christmas card with it.<br />
Now, to be honest, I came close to passing on this challenge, thinking it would be too difficult, but I brainstormed a bit, and this is what I came up with.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcQZZVxjMcsJTUYX3cB3FptdURGDI8IXkXkfQaw0VKN8aXuiNj3laqQ0Sp_RA2ht1hSccu7tlrloi34gpB2KJwKkUKACgvJJfosDTfuwndowru76Z7to5cNgLrHMBbTiNT_s_funWGjEw/s1600/IMG_1218+adj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcQZZVxjMcsJTUYX3cB3FptdURGDI8IXkXkfQaw0VKN8aXuiNj3laqQ0Sp_RA2ht1hSccu7tlrloi34gpB2KJwKkUKACgvJJfosDTfuwndowru76Z7to5cNgLrHMBbTiNT_s_funWGjEw/s320/IMG_1218+adj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I coloured Witch Betty in red and Green, used a snow marker and actual cocoa to try and make it look like she was brewing hot chocolate in her cauldron and then gave her a big old candycane as a stir stick. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp, but it was way too big for the card, so I typed it out on my computer. Papers are Cocoa by Upsydaisy and Royal Bliss by Sassafrass Lass, and a few little Bella Baubles finished it off. <br />
Can't wait for Day 2 Challenge!Pepper Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11674614664126583657noreply@blogger.com7
