Cheri at Graphicat Creations has a new sketch Challenge up for May, and here it is....

For this challenge I used her Coffee Cat image and cute sentiment.

She has also designed a bunch of new tropical drink images and some great sayings to go with them. Go check them out. And please, join us for this months Sketch Challenge.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET BOY

This latest card wasn't for a Hop or Challenge, it was for my sweet nephew's second birthday. I used my favourite Mo Manning image and BasicGrey Life of the Party paper. I'm thrilled that Ty loves the cards I make him, however he likes to look at them so much that the number 2 has already had to be repaired, and he also keeps trying to open the buttons...his mom has now tucked it safely out of reach lol.

Graphicat Designs Grand Opening HOP

I'm so excited this morning! It's the official launch of Grapicat Designs, and I am especially thrilled to be a part of it. Cheri has designed some fabulous images, as well as some witty sentiments that I am really looking forward to using... not to mention getting to work with an extremely talented design team.

You should have arrived here from Tanya's blog if not and you've just happened along here you'll want to hop back to the beginning at Cheri's Blog.

For my first card here I decided I'd better use the sushi images (especially since I begged, pleaded and hounded Cheri to draw them lol). I must say they are my favs.

Thank you for hopping with us, make sure you leave a comment for me so you're eligible for the prize drawings and head on over to Graphicat Designs for the end of the hop.

I'm still here...

Ok...so I haven't blogged in ages...I'm sorry. It's not that I haven't been making anything, it's that I rarely remember to take pictures and post before I give the card or item away. I am working on getting better.... especially since I will be part of the Graphicat Design Team! I'm very excited about that!

So, here's a card I made last week for Cheri's son Bradley's birthday. I of course used one of Cheri's sketches, and the Kenny K image Rock Dude...he's so cool. I love him! Bradley...like his Auntie Shelley...has a love for classic rock, especially AC/DC (which pains his mother! ) so this image was perfect. I worked so hard on the back wall, but you can barely see it in the picture. I used a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder and some Ranger distress paper..oh well...I know it's there lol.

Now,  last week, Cheri mentioned on her blog that we had picked up the tickets for next month's Scrapbook Spectacular, and that we had made the tye-dye t-shirts for the 70's theme night. Here's a couple pics we took while making them.

It was alot of fun, and not nearly as messy as I thought it would be...well, that's likely because Cheri did most of the work and I kept safely away from the bottle of dye.

So...this is my finished shirt...as you can see it has been embellished with a grey domestic short hair cat, but you are free to embellish your shirts however you see fit. ;o)

SB Challenge #3

I've made this card to enter into Simply Betty's Challenge #3, it's to use a sketch done by Cheri. YAY!
I had actually coloured this Rio Valentine image to use last week in Eulanda's Make it Classic (black & white) challenge, but life got away from me and I didn't manage to make the card for it, so I decided to use the image this week.
I'm loving the Emo Valentine images. They are so much fun to work with.
Cheers.

3 Cards in 1 Weekend

I can't believe it myself, but I somehow managed to put together 3 cards in 1 weekend. Now, to be honest, if I didn't procrastinate so bad, I wouldn't have had to get them all done in one weekend, but I seem to work better under pressure....well, that's what I'm telling myself.
I'm not happy with the pictures I'm posting. I really need to figure out the best way to take pictures of my cards.....I try flash, and no flash, Ottlite above, natural light...but they're not working for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The first card was a birthday card for my cousin. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.....
And inside sentiment is Skipping Stones Design with wine bottle/cheese stamps by Amuse.

The next cards were for my twin neice and nephew's 6th birthday. I used an image from Lil Lolita (80's Sookie) for my niece's card. She's quite the little Diva and loves to entertain, so I knew this was perfect for her.
And the last card was made using another Mo Manning image (video boy). A perfect fit for my video game loving nephew.

Resolutions

I've never been one to make New Years resolutions....likely because I know how hard they are to keep, but this year I decided I'm going to try and make more time for myself.... to do the things I enjoy...yes, making cards and scrapbooking, but other things too.....Work less and play more....that's what I resolve to do!

Now, my first card of the year is one I did for my sister-in-law. Her New Years resolution was to quit smoking, and I am so proud of her, so far so good. I'm an ex-smoker and know first hand how hard it is to quit. I was having alot of trouble coming up with ideas for a card....everything was all too cutesy, and knowing the withdrawls my SIL was going through, cutesy wasn't going to cut it. I called Cheri to help me out with it, she too knew what Mel would be going through, and she suggested the great image (Lilith the Vampire from Lil Loita), and that perfect sentiment (Tiddly Inks).

Now....I'm off to bed.....I think I should have resolved to start going to bed earlier....nah... would have already broke that resolution LOL!
