GRAPHICAT DECEMBER SKETCH CHALLENGE

It's time for December's challenge over at Graphicat Sketches and this month you can pick your favourite Graphicat Sketch to use. I've decided to use August's Sketch...it's one of my favourites, plus the Gingerbread Man stamp set, because I love the cheeky sentiments.

The stamp set is delish, isn't it? So much fun to work with, and the cute sentiments make for delightful Christmas cards.
Be sure to go check out the rest of the Design Team cards.
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Holidays!!

I'm still here...

It's been a month since I last posted, but it's  not that I haven't been crafting....I'm just really lousy at remembering to take photos before I give away the cards LOL.  So after I finished making this wreath, I decided to take a photo right away so even if I wasn't posting cards, I could post something I've made.

This wreath was made using geo mesh, and it was a bit of a challenge getting the floral picks to hold in the styrofoam. I had to use my glue gun to do it, and burned my fingers so many times that they are still numb on the tips. But overall, I'm pleased with the results and would definitely do another.

Thanks for coming by.

Graphicat November Sketch Challege

It's the first Monday of the month, and you know what that means!?  Time for this month's Sketch Challege at Graphicat Designs.  Cheri is also releasing some new stamps and digi images, so make sure you go check them out.

I chose to use one of Cheri's digi images for my card. And yes, it's a tad sarcastic, a little cheeky,  but then again, so am I.  I also have some friends that are a little bah-hum-buggy about Christmas, and this is perfect for them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Graphicat October Sketch Challenge

Well, it's been an exciting week over at Graphicat Stamps with the launch of Cheri's stamps. I sure hope you've had a chance to check them out. She's got some new digis available on her site, as well as new rubber coming in any day now, so be sure to check in regularly.

Now, for October it's going to be a sketch Challenge...my personal favourite.
For my card I chose to use one of Simply Betty's stamps called "Mummy London" and paired it with one of the Graphicat sentiments "Zombies".

The prize for this months challenge will be a 4x6 stamp set called Awesome Kids. It's a great set, especially for those tweens and teens that are always so hard to find sentiments for.

Wishing for summer....

I miss summer. It's mid July and I barely have any tan line. In fact today I saw people out wearing sweaters. It's ridiculous! I'm so sick of the unusually cold weather!
This week I decided to try and cheer myself up by making a beachy card. There may not be warm weather and sunshine, but I have the bestest girlfriends and that more than makes up for it!!  ;o)

It's a easel card, which I discovered is very hard to photograph LOL! I used the fabulous Ai stamp Girlfriends. Sentiment is also Ai, and ain't it the truth!!!

Thanks for looking.

It's July and time for a new Sketch Challenge over at Graphicat Sketches ! Sorry I'm a little late, but I've been down and out with a sinus and throat infection. I'm on the mend and today finally took a pic of my card to post it. First, here's the cool sketch...

And now, I know the rest of the design team used Cheri's latest release of Tea images and sentiments, but I decided to use one of her first images...Boomer! Named after my sweet baby. The sentiment is also one of Cheri's. Please check out her site, Graphicat Designs, she has some very cute and sassy sentiments.

I used My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers. I love the colour combo of orange, purple and green, even if it doesn't look as cool in the photo. And the image was fun and easy to colour. I look forward to using it again. Now please, go check out Graphicat Sketches and please join the challenge!

4 cards posted

I wanted to get some pictures posted so you don't think that I haven't been making any cards. I haven't been entering any challenges, and missed getting my DT card done....but things are settling down again and hopefully I will be posting regularly now. LOL!...who am I trying to kid? But I will try better. First 2 pictures didn't turn out very well. It was extremely sunny and I couldn't get anything without a glare or shadow. Sorry about the lousy quality....I'm still waiting for someone to offer me free photography lessons ;o)

First card is a retirement card I made for a co-worker. Sylvie is a darling lady, and we worked together 22 years. She trained me when I first started at the hospital, (when I was just a child) lol, and she will be greatly missed at work.

The next card was for a friend's sister who needed cheering up. I hope it made her smile, and I look forward to meeting her sometime soon! I used the Kraftin Kimmie stamp Drucilla for it. (I've been dying to use it!!!)

Next is an anniversary card for my brother and his wife. It's their first anniversary....I can't believe it's been a year already. Feels like last week. I used this adorable Stampavie stamp for their card. Sickly sweet isn't it?

And finally a Father's Day card for my Dad. His favourite place to be is up at their trailer, so I knew this Mo Manning image would be perfect.

Thanks for looking!!!

Ladybug Crafts Ink Stamp

I am totally in love with Ladybug Crafts Ink stamps, so when a friend at work asked me to make a birthday card for her boyfriend's mother (who loves martinis and her little dogs) I knew the perfect stamp to use!!

Don'tcha just love her? She is part of the Nikki & Friends line which is my favourite...but, then I also love her Magnum line which is a hilarious fat cat....oh and her new Shoes n' Bags line is fabulous. What can I say? I love them all. Please go check them out....you'll fall in love too.

Playing Catch Up

Ok...so I have fallen behind on my posts, but since none of these cards are for Challenges, I figure that's ok.
These were the cards I made a few weekends ago at the Scrapbooking Spectacular in Langley. The first one I made was for a friend Chris that has moved waaaaay up north. ....way-way up north lol. It's a good thing we are all card makers, because it will help to keep us all in touch, even miles away.

The next two cards were for my aunts.... just thinking of you cards.

And finally the Mother's Day card I made for my mommy.

Thanks for looking.

Graphicat Creations May Sketch Challenge

Cheri at Graphicat Creations has a new sketch Challenge up for May, and here it is....

For this challenge I used her Coffee Cat image and cute sentiment.

She has also designed a bunch of new tropical drink images and some great sayings to go with them. Go check them out. And please, join us for this months Sketch Challenge.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET BOY

This latest card wasn't for a Hop or Challenge, it was for my sweet nephew's second birthday. I used my favourite Mo Manning image and BasicGrey Life of the Party paper. I'm thrilled that Ty loves the cards I make him, however he likes to look at them so much that the number 2 has already had to be repaired, and he also keeps trying to open the buttons...his mom has now tucked it safely out of reach lol.

Graphicat Designs Grand Opening HOP

I'm so excited this morning! It's the official launch of Grapicat Designs, and I am especially thrilled to be a part of it. Cheri has designed some fabulous images, as well as some witty sentiments that I am really looking forward to using... not to mention getting to work with an extremely talented design team.

You should have arrived here from Tanya's blog if not and you've just happened along here you'll want to hop back to the beginning at Cheri's Blog.

For my first card here I decided I'd better use the sushi images (especially since I begged, pleaded and hounded Cheri to draw them lol). I must say they are my favs.

Thank you for hopping with us, make sure you leave a comment for me so you're eligible for the prize drawings and head on over to Graphicat Designs for the end of the hop.

I'm still here...

Ok...so I haven't blogged in ages...I'm sorry. It's not that I haven't been making anything, it's that I rarely remember to take pictures and post before I give the card or item away. I am working on getting better.... especially since I will be part of the Graphicat Design Team! I'm very excited about that!

So, here's a card I made last week for Cheri's son Bradley's birthday. I of course used one of Cheri's sketches, and the Kenny K image Rock Dude...he's so cool. I love him! Bradley...like his Auntie Shelley...has a love for classic rock, especially AC/DC (which pains his mother! ) so this image was perfect. I worked so hard on the back wall, but you can barely see it in the picture. I used a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder and some Ranger distress paper..oh well...I know it's there lol.

Now,  last week, Cheri mentioned on her blog that we had picked up the tickets for next month's Scrapbook Spectacular, and that we had made the tye-dye t-shirts for the 70's theme night. Here's a couple pics we took while making them.

It was alot of fun, and not nearly as messy as I thought it would be...well, that's likely because Cheri did most of the work and I kept safely away from the bottle of dye.

So...this is my finished shirt...as you can see it has been embellished with a grey domestic short hair cat, but you are free to embellish your shirts however you see fit. ;o)

SB Challenge #3

I've made this card to enter into Simply Betty's Challenge #3, it's to use a sketch done by Cheri. YAY!
I had actually coloured this Rio Valentine image to use last week in Eulanda's Make it Classic (black & white) challenge, but life got away from me and I didn't manage to make the card for it, so I decided to use the image this week.
I'm loving the Emo Valentine images. They are so much fun to work with.
Cheers.

3 Cards in 1 Weekend

I can't believe it myself, but I somehow managed to put together 3 cards in 1 weekend. Now, to be honest, if I didn't procrastinate so bad, I wouldn't have had to get them all done in one weekend, but I seem to work better under pressure....well, that's what I'm telling myself.
I'm not happy with the pictures I'm posting. I really need to figure out the best way to take pictures of my cards.....I try flash, and no flash, Ottlite above, natural light...but they're not working for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The first card was a birthday card for my cousin. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.....
And inside sentiment is Skipping Stones Design with wine bottle/cheese stamps by Amuse.

The next cards were for my twin neice and nephew's 6th birthday. I used an image from Lil Lolita (80's Sookie) for my niece's card. She's quite the little Diva and loves to entertain, so I knew this was perfect for her.
And the last card was made using another Mo Manning image (video boy). A perfect fit for my video game loving nephew.

Resolutions

I've never been one to make New Years resolutions....likely because I know how hard they are to keep, but this year I decided I'm going to try and make more time for myself.... to do the things I enjoy...yes, making cards and scrapbooking, but other things too.....Work less and play more....that's what I resolve to do!

Now, my first card of the year is one I did for my sister-in-law. Her New Years resolution was to quit smoking, and I am so proud of her, so far so good. I'm an ex-smoker and know first hand how hard it is to quit. I was having alot of trouble coming up with ideas for a card....everything was all too cutesy, and knowing the withdrawls my SIL was going through, cutesy wasn't going to cut it. I called Cheri to help me out with it, she too knew what Mel would be going through, and she suggested the great image (Lilith the Vampire from Lil Loita), and that perfect sentiment (Tiddly Inks).

Now....I'm off to bed.....I think I should have resolved to start going to bed earlier....nah... would have already broke that resolution LOL!
